![]() Majority of the time as pally you’re going to be within melee range and some builds are strictly melee. Here’s my thoughts from playing both wayyyy back in the day: But there is a reason people farm with casters (Sorc/Blessed Hammer Paly/Necros) it's just less weapon focused. Either way any class will get you through the game overall with out much issue. ![]() If you wanna do a melee Paly you'll be fine but with out specific equipment end game can be a giant pain in the butt. So a Necro or Sorc, or Caster Paly, all those spells do the dmg they do and the games balanced around those build. This was before WoW and blizzard deciding everything had to be like WoW. They aren't tied down to a weapon like other blizzard games. In D2 casters have an easier time with out equipment. Necro gets Life Tap which makes it so anyone making weapons attacks against the target gets huge life leech bonus (50% of dmg delt).īut none of that was what I wanted to mention. Paly has a bad Holy Bolt skills that 'can' do it but also a low HP heal aura that can apply to other defensive auras (so it doesn't cost mana). ![]() So just to toss this out there but as they've stated there's no healer class but hilariously enough both Paladin and Necro can heal people.
